The sunny, south-facing
apartment is a conversion of old stables underneath the romantic, isolated farmhouse, home to painter and mosaic artists Phelan & Susan Harlock-Black.
French windows open on an exotic, shady private garden with unusual plants, lilypond and fountain. It has stunning views and vine-covered spaces for relaxing
and eating all'aperto. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. There is an extra shower in the garden with a large low stone and mosaic bath which doubles up as a wonderful paddling
pool for children.
Inside it is both extremely comfortable and creatively decorated. It has a large country kitchen at one end of the spacious living area, two double bedrooms,
one with an extra single bed, and a bathroom with a beautiful mosaic shower.
It is well equipped and linen & towels are provided as is a tape/CD player. There is also a free wireless connection in the apartment if you wish to use
your laptop while you're here.
One of the enjoyable features of the apartment is the nearby presence of our farmyard animals, including sheep, chickens, rabbits and two Neapolitan donkeys -
always much appreciated by children.
It's also a wonderful place for bird-watching, including frequent visits by Golden Orioles just feet away from the apartment.
It is situated in lush countryside and woodland 2 kms outside the village. The last 1 km of this is lovely tree lined but rather bumpy lane.
Some samples from the many "thank-you" emails we've received from delighted guests:
"A quick note to say how much we enjoyed our stay in late July. We will be back.. Visiting you has been part of our family life, we have great memories of our
children, particularly when they were smaller, the visits have been part of their up-bringing."
"We have great memories of our stay at you place. My wife and I enjoyed an absolutely wonderful stay this summer at this intimate, warm, beautiful and private
place. We stayed in the beautifully decorated apartment for a few days with some wonderfully surprising elements and little places to enjoy the views. Suzie's and Phelans hospitality is so warm
and heart-full, offering vegetables from their garden and even home made wine."
"We made it back and plunged back into life, am only just coming up for air again. Just writing to say a big thank you for such a wonderful week -- as you know
we all loved it, and couldn't have imagined a better holiday. It's such a magical place thanks to your creativity, and your thoughtful kindness. The kids are still talking about you both.
And every night I have to tell a guapa and shelley story at bedtime."
"It was ten days in Paradise ! Huge Thanks"

"We've recently returned from 10 days in the apartment, and can't stop talking about it. If you're looking to really escape the rat-race and
completely relax in peaceful surroundings we can think of nowhere better. The apartment, gardens and views are simply fantastic - as were Suzie and Phelan, the perfect hosts. How good was it? Well
the beaches are about 45 minutes away and we never once thought about going! We plan to return every year."

"I came across you purely by chance, but your photos and other guests' comments made me feel certain it was the right choice for us - and we were not
disappointed. Everywhere we turned, there was a breathtaking view, a perfectly positioned seat, a stunning work of art, a pretty light fitting, a beautifully crafted rocking [ ... ] The way the
apartment is decorated and the treasures within made us feel as though we were staying in a miniature version of Charleston Farmhouse. And, as predicted, Ruby adored being near the animals,
especially the dogs, cats and pigeons. It was everything we had hoped for, and more. Thank you all so much for being so kind and hospitable, and for all your help and advice. We had the most
wonderful, peaceful, relaxing stay, and we're longing to return"
